Sifting through the sand,
Of the coastline close at hand

We've lived at the base of it's glory,
Rising high above the sound,
Peeking through the cloudscapes,
That perpetually shroud my hometown,

We must pay our dues to the mountain,
With our fortunes left untold,
Soon falls the night and the sea bird in flight,
For the mountain must grow old,

Soon falls the rain of a thousand years,
Washing out the rivers and the town,
Dusting the landscape,
